This latest in Mi-Si’s line of innovation combines the sound coming from Mi-Si’s unique capacitive sensing undersaddle pickup with sound fed by MEMS microphone – producing even cleaner and “airy” sound

Motif is the first capacitive active under-saddle pickup to eliminate the age-old problem of piezo sensor “quack,” the distortion produced by current pick-up systems. 

Motif’s design is similar in principle to the design of the best-performing condenser microphones. Motif is only 1.3 mm thick and is connected to a state-of-the-art, extremely low-noise class A discrete preamplifier mounted on the endpin jack. The pickup’s mechanical structure provides excellent contact between saddle and bridge.

Like any other Mi-Si preamp, Align requires no batteries and it takes only 60 seconds to charge. A single charge will net you 6 hours of active preamp power.
